And how strange that the '89 show has a 26 min DS, while the '72 show's DS is under 22 min.

This might be one of the (very) few instances where a TDIH '80s Star can stand up next to a '70s Star. The Dead do get really freaky on 10/26/89. On 10/26/72, on the other hand, they sound worn out after the giant Playing, and the Dark Star falls pretty flat compared to the other late-'72 Stars. In fact it's about the shortest Dark Star they did all year (whereas the Playing is just about the longest).

It's all about the balls. '72 Dark Stars have massive balls dude. The balls on post-hiatus Dark Stars seem like they've been chillin' in a cold pool for awhile.

Just making an observation. I'll take an early DS over anything post-hiatus, 99.9% of the time.
